Money Saving Jutsu

Hello there! Basically, I was really into couponing until I decided it would be a good idea to go Paleo. What is Paleo? Basically - and I stress the "basic" part - eating Paleo is sort of eating like a Vegan, excepting meat is also consumed on a daily basis, and grains of all kinds are totally omitted from the diet. Needless to say, this nearly halted my coupon usage, as well as a lot of [needless] shopping. Unfortunately, I had this blog design created for me around the same time, so it has just sat here and stagnated...Until my return!

I originally got into using coupons a little over a year ago now. One day me and my husband were shopping at Jewel-Oso, and we had very little in our cart, but our total was still upwards of $80. Now, I make good money with my job, and can afford to pay full prices for food...But why should I pay so much for so little food? I will admit, I am not perfect though I would like to eat well using coupons and on The Paleo Diet. This of course means spending little money and working out. So let's see what I can do in the coming days, weeks, and months, shall we?

For starters, I have been keeping up with purchasing my extra copies of newspapers for the coupons, though I've only been getting 3 or so extra newspapers a week (at one point I was getting 10 in addition to the 1 I got delivered!). As of 3/30, I also have sown some seeds indoors - spinach, ruby lettuce, a random flower or two, peppers, and tomatoes. I'm planning on growing indoors, though for funsies I did plant a pumpkin seed and the thing really took off, and is HUGE. Since the last frost date for our area is actually towards the end of April I am going to make a small garden bed outside and plant this along with a variety of tomatoes I have growing called "Bloody Butcher". I can't wait to see my OWN produce!

  1. I wish I could grow my own vegetables... if I tried we'd have to share one skinny onion.

  2. Yes, we'll see how it goes. So far, so good! The only bad thing is some seeds have not sprouted, but I'm not too worried about them yet as they were all store-bought seeds and of course, all bought on sale :)
