Mail Coupons & Seeds!

Today I not only received my $2/1 Revlon Face Makeup coupons in the mail, I also received seeds I ordered upon recommendation from a very nice gent off the forums from the website GardenWeb. Those forums are pretty spectacular; there is a wealth of information and forums numbering in the hundreds for any and all information pertaining to gardening.

Anyhoo, the website is The Sample Seed Shop. I got an assortment of seeds; broccoli, spinach, lettuces, arugula, and two I was especially excited to try growing: a "spicy lettuce mix" and also "sweet yellow and red mini bell pepper mix" seeds.

The guy who showed me a picture of his plants said the spicy mix only took a month or so to mature enough to where he could pick enough leaves for a salad or two. That excites me, because the plants I have now are slow-growing.

Edited to add:

I pressed some of the seeds from the spicy lettuce mix into a few un-planted cells of the tray that has already established plants, just for funsies. Tomorrow before I actually get home from work, I need to go to a Menards, Home Depot, heck maybe even Walmart? to see about getting some larger pots for the plants to go into. I really, really, REALLY despise the peat pots...Never buy those. I've certainly learned my lesson.

  1. Oh that is cool. I do like that site, good prices and you don't have to buy 1000 seeds at once... Maybe I'll get some of the spicy mix as well if yours turns out nicely. ^0^

  2. Yeah I was kind of surprised at the pricing, in all honesty. It looks like a one-woman sort of site, but they must grow a lot to be able to sell so many seeds for so cheap.
